About Us

On May 27, 1965, we were incorporated as Lincoln Park First Aid Squad, Inc. For more than 50 years, the Lincoln Park First Aid Squad, also known as Lincoln Park EMS (LPEMS), has been providing free emergency medical services to friends, visitors, and neighbors of Lincoln Park. As the Lincoln Park area population continues to grow every year, the demands on LPEMS also increase annually.

All of the organization’s members are volunteers who donate their time to answer emergency calls around the clock, 365 days a year. Neither the squad nor any member receives monetary compensation from any source for providing emergency medical services.

Many of our squad members are state/national-certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and are trained to recognize and treat an array of medical problems ranging from heart and asthma attacks, diabetic emergencies, and respiratory problems to fractures, bumps, and bruises. Training is provided free for any squad member.

Never knowing what you may encounter is part of the challenge. We open doors into your home, office, or car. We walk into your life; you don’t know who we are, where we work, or why we do it. But when you need them, you’re grateful we are there. We are your neighbors, colleagues, and family members. We serve you and your loved ones during an emergency. We are Lincoln Park EMS.

The experience of helping people in their time of need can be very rewarding. Saving a life is not as hard as you might think. For more information about joining, click here.
